Abstract/Summary The thermal decomposition process and mechanism of lanthanide complexes with N-phenylanthranilic acid were studied. On heating in air atmosphere, the TG-DTA curves of La3+, Pr3+, Nd3+ complexes show three processes (two dehydrations and one decomposition), while the TGDTA curves of Gd3+, Eu3+, Tb3+, Sm3+, Dy3+ complexes show two processes (one dehydration andone decomposition), the final products are rare earth oxides. On heating in nitrogen atmosphere,the TG-DTA curves of all the complexes show two processes, the final products are the mixtures oflanthanide oxides and carbon.
