Abstract/Summary Laboratory bleaching studies were carried out on kraft pulp to investigate the influence of two bleaching oxidizers and of operating variables, namely temperature and charge of oxidizers, on pulp properties. Totally chlorine-free bleaching sequences containing either hydrogen peroxide stage or peracetic acid stage were compared on the basis of the change in brightness and in zero-span breaking length measured for bleached pulp.
